I recently had Elite Rooter do a preventative maintenance cleanout of my main sewer drain line. This drain line has the roots from my olive tree growing into the drain pipeline that will cause backups if not cleaned out properly. The tech (Erick) from Elite Rooter knew exactly what to do as well as determining the correct bit to be affixed to the auger, unlike other rooting companies that have performed the same task in the past.

What caught my eye was the $50 special to clean the drain, so I called and scheduled an appointment. Boy was I gullible! $50? Too good to be true! When I called to schedule the job, I told the scheduler that it would take a 75 foot rooter machine. The tech showed up with a small hand carry machine. I’m estimating maybe a 25 footer. I told him a few years ago that I had used a 75 footer and it worked. He kept trying to snake the drain for about 30 minutes with his wimpy machine when he stopped and asked to see the access to go under the house. He came back and said there was a poor job on the piping, which caused uneven piping and said it was preventing him from pushing the snake through. I thought that was a fair assessment of the plumbing since I’m somewhat familiar with plumbing and I know a smooth joint is best—so fair enough. Then he said he was calling his manager to assess the plumbing. His boss came and said that in his opinion, the plumbing needs to be hydro-jetted and he quoted over $1800 to complete the job. OMG I thought! As soon as Elite plumbing left, I went to Home Depot and rented a 75 ft. rooter machine with a small u-shape cutting tool. I had snaked the drain about 2-3 years ago and it worked then at about 50-60 ft deep, so I figured I’d give it a try. The snake got stuck a few times and finally, I pushed it about 60 feet and lo and behold success! Yah!! Full flow of water goes down the drain with absolutely no backup. Cost me $68 to rent the machine. AND I LOST $50 on the plumbers bad job.I was turned off by the fact they claim that they can clean your drains for $50, but they show up with a machine not powerful enough and way too short. If they claim they can clean the drain, bring the right tools. I almost felt like it was a scam, but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.Lessons learned:1) If it is too good to be true, it more than likely isn’t. This is in reference to the $50 special.2) You need the right tools for the right job. This is in reference to the 25 footer that didn’t work vs. the 75 footer that I rented which worked.3) If you want the job done right, do it yourself!I’m not even a plumber and I was able to clean the drain myself—so what is their excuse? Don’t quote people over $1800 for hydro-jet when you barely tried to clean the drain. The photo is the machine I rented at Home Depot. This is the right tool for the job. Elite Plumbing needs to buy use one instead of gouging people for Hydro-jetting service.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Service, Clear CommunicationErick Zavala provided outstanding service for our toilet issue. He was professional, friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable. What impressed me most was how well he explained the problem - our toilet's tunnel is narrowing due to blockage, which he fixed but warned might recur with use.I really appreciated Erick's thoroughness and honesty. He not only addressed the problem toilet but also checked our other one to ensure it wasn't having similar issues. While it's unfortunate that the problem might come back, his clear communication about this possibility and his comprehensive approach made the whole experience much less stressful.I highly recommend Erick for any plumbing needs. It's rare to find a technician who combines technical skill with such clear explanations. Great job, Erick!

Called Elite Rooting asking for a quick snake/clean out. Erick arrived a few hours later and diagnosed the situation as much more serious. After determining the location of the fault, Erick stayed on the job, dug out the pipe and got things flowing again. He then came back the next day and made a permanent fix. And then he came back again the next day to make sure everything was perfect. Job well done.

Had a wonderful experience with Zac and Elite Rooter today. Woke up this morning, ran the laundry, and next thing I know there was water coming out of the toilet. Got an appointment online, and they were able to come out quickly to fix the issue. It was not a normal snake the drain issue, they had to go and get the big guns, there was large machine they used to unclog the drain using high pressure water. But they were able to fix the issue quite easily and professionally the same day. Thank you!

I recently had Elite-Rooter install a new trenchless sewer line; I used them because they did a good job doing similar work on a sewer line on another property a few years earlier. I though they were expensive but I was confident they would do a good job and I did not shop around. A few days later I had another problem. My toilet needed to be replaced. Elite-Rooter charged me $2400 to replace a toilet that took them less than an hour to install. I thought the fee was excessive and they assured me it wasn’t. I later found out that my local plumbing supply company sold the same toilet retail for $401. Two thousand dollars to replace a toilet is outrageous! I will not use Elite-Rooter again.

Worst plumber and worst company.I called service for vanity pipe plug issue and they charged $389 for unplugging drainage pipe. However they didn't bring correct tool so they only did 30% work and said they can't do the job so they said I have to hire other plumber who can put tool deeper into pipe. This plumber brought 25ft long equipment. Other plumber came with 75 ft tool and resolve issue. Other company charge less than half of Elite rooter. I explained what happened with Elite rooter technician and this plumber said it is typical to use 75ft tool for this type of issue. Elite rooter did not do the job, provide wrong diagnosis saying that it's not something plugging rather he said it's pipe issue between me and my neighbor due to ages of building. I have called for complaint 4 times last 4 days and nobody reply yet. This company not qualified do work for your plumbing based on my experience. Elite rooter welcome contact me for this review.Typically service technician require signature before and after service complete. However, Elite rooter only require me sign before service call to charge money but he don't ask signature at the end because I know he didn't finish his scope of work.

If you have a clogged drain, there are a few initial steps you can take to try to clear it before calling a plumber. Start by using a plunger—position it over the drain and use vigorous but controlled movements to create enough suction to dislodge the blockage. If that doesn’t work, you can try pouring a mixture of baking soda and vinegar down the drain. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then flush with hot water. This can help dissolve minor clogs. It’s best to avoid chemical drain cleaners, as they can damage your pipes and are often ineffective for severe clogs. If the clog persists, it’s time to call a professional plumber. We have the tools, such as drain snakes and hydro jetting, to effectively remove the blockage and ensure the drain is flowing properly again, without risking damage to your plumbing system.
Yes, we believe that transparency is key to building trust with our customers, which is why we offer free, no-obligation estimates for all our plumbing and drain repair services in San Jose. When you contact us, we’ll schedule a convenient time to visit your property and assess the issue firsthand. During our inspection, we’ll diagnose the problem and provide a clear breakdown of what needs to be done to fix it. We’ll also give you an honest, upfront cost estimate so you know exactly what to expect before we begin any work. This way, you won’t encounter any unexpected charges, and you can make an informed decision about how to proceed. Whether you’re dealing with a leaky pipe, a clogged drain, or a major plumbing installation, our team is here to provide you with a fair and accurate estimate.
Low water pressure can be caused by several issues, ranging from minor problems to more serious plumbing concerns. Common causes include mineral buildup within the pipes, which is especially prevalent in areas with hard water. This buildup reduces the internal diameter of pipes, restricting water flow and lowering pressure. Leaks in the plumbing system can also lead to reduced pressure, as water escapes before it reaches the fixtures. A partially closed shut-off valve or problems with the pressure regulator can also be contributing factors. Older homes may experience corroded pipes, which can impede water flow over time. We can certainly help fix low water pressure issues. Our plumbers will conduct a thorough inspection to identify the root cause and recommend the appropriate solution—whether that means cleaning or replacing pipes, fixing leaks, or adjusting the pressure regulator to ensure optimal water flow throughout your home.
Yes, all of our plumbers are fully licensed and insured, ensuring that you receive the highest quality service available. Our licensing process requires rigorous training, education, and testing to ensure that each plumber has a thorough understanding of local plumbing codes, safety protocols, and the skills necessary to complete a wide range of plumbing tasks. By hiring licensed professionals, you can be assured that the work is done correctly and meets all necessary regulations. Additionally, we are fully insured, meaning that both our plumbers and your property are protected during the work process. This provides peace of mind, knowing that you won’t be liable for any accidents or damages that could occur on the job. We take pride in the quality of our work and stand behind it, guaranteeing that our customers receive professional, reliable, and safe plumbing solutions every time they call us.
Drains that frequently get clogged are often a sign of an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. One common cause is the buildup of materials like grease, soap residue, food particles, or hair that gradually accumulate inside your pipes, narrowing the passage and leading to repeated blockages. In kitchens, cooking grease and food scraps are often responsible, while in bathrooms, hair and soap scum are the main culprits. Another cause of recurring clogs could be tree roots that have invaded your sewer lines, seeking moisture and nutrients. Over time, these roots can create significant blockages, especially in older homes with clay or metal pipes. Flushing inappropriate items down the toilet, such as wipes or hygiene products, can also lead to ongoing issues. Our professional drain cleaning services can help remove stubborn clogs and keep your pipes clean, reducing the likelihood of future blockages.
Identifying a sewer line problem early can prevent extensive damage to your property. Common warning signs that your sewer line may need repair include frequent backups in your sinks, toilets, or showers, which can indicate a blockage or damage in the main line. Another telltale sign is slow drainage throughout your home, rather than just in a single fixture. You might also notice foul odors coming from your drains or around your yard, which can indicate a break in the line. If you see patches of grass that are greener and growing faster than other areas, it could mean that sewage is leaking into the soil and fertilizing it. Sinkholes or soggy spots in your yard can also point to an underground leak. If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s best to contact us for a professional video inspection to determine the extent of the damage and recommend the appropriate repair solution.
Yes, we provide comprehensive water heater repair and installation services in San Jose. Whether you have a traditional tank water heater, a tankless model, or a heat pump water heater, our experienced technicians can handle all aspects of service, repair, and installation. If you’re experiencing issues like fluctuating water temperature, strange noises, discolored water, or a lack of hot water altogether, we can diagnose the problem and make the necessary repairs. In some cases, if the unit is too old or the repair costs outweigh the benefits, we may recommend a replacement. We can also help you choose the best water heater for your needs, ensuring you get an energy-efficient model that suits your household’s hot water demands. Our installation services include connecting the new unit, ensuring all safety regulations are met, and removing your old water heater in an environmentally friendly manner.
The cost of a plumbing repair in San Jose can vary greatly depending on the type and complexity of the issue. Minor repairs, such as fixing a leaky faucet or clearing a small drain clog, are generally less expensive and may cost between $100 and $300. More complicated issues, such as repairing a major leak, replacing a section of pipe, or addressing water heater issues, can cost more due to the labor and parts involved. We understand that unexpected plumbing repairs can be stressful, both logistically and financially. That’s why we provide free estimates, so you’ll know the cost upfront before any work begins. We strive to keep our pricing competitive and transparent, ensuring that our customers in San Jose receive high-quality service without surprises. Our goal is to offer solutions that fit your budget while ensuring the long-term reliability of your plumbing system.
An overflowing toilet can be a messy and stressful situation, but there are steps you can take to mitigate the problem. First, locate the shut-off valve near the base of the toilet and turn it clockwise to stop the flow of water. This will help prevent more water from spilling onto your floor. If you can’t find the shut-off valve, remove the toilet tank lid and lift the float to stop water from entering the bowl. Once the water is off, use a plunger to try to clear the clog. Plunging should be done with controlled but firm pressure to avoid causing further issues. If plunging doesn’t work, it’s best to avoid flushing the toilet again, as this could lead to more flooding. Contact us, and our team will arrive quickly to properly clear the blockage and ensure that your toilet functions as it should.
Yes, we are experienced in detecting and repairing slab leaks. A slab leak occurs when the water or sewer pipes running beneath the concrete foundation of your home develop a leak. These leaks can be caused by corrosion, shifting soil, or improper installation and can lead to significant damage if not addressed promptly. Signs of a slab leak include warm or damp spots on your floor, the sound of running water when no fixtures are in use, unusually high water bills, and low water pressure. Detecting a slab leak requires specialized equipment like electronic listening devices and infrared cameras to pinpoint the location of the leak without unnecessary digging. Once located, we offer various repair options, including spot repair, rerouting, or pipe lining. Our goal is to provide a minimally invasive solution that effectively stops the leak and prevents further damage to your home.
Hydro jetting is a highly effective method of clearing blockages and cleaning your pipes using high-pressure water. Unlike traditional drain cleaning methods that may only punch a hole through the clog, hydro jetting uses streams of water at pressures of up to 4000 psi to thoroughly clean the walls of your pipes. It is particularly effective for removing stubborn clogs, such as tree roots, grease buildup, and mineral deposits that can lead to recurring issues. Hydro jetting is also an excellent preventative maintenance technique for keeping sewer and drain lines clear, especially in commercial settings where grease and other materials can accumulate quickly. We offer hydro jetting services for both residential and commercial properties in San Jose. Our skilled technicians will assess your plumbing system to determine if hydro jetting is the best solution for your needs, ensuring your pipes remain clear and your plumbing operates smoothly.
Although freezing pipes are not as common in San Jose as in colder climates, it can still happen during an unusually cold winter. Preventing your pipes from freezing involves taking some proactive steps, especially during cold snaps. Start by insulating exposed pipes, especially those in areas like attics, basements, garages, or any outdoor areas. You can use foam pipe insulation sleeves or even heat tape to keep pipes warm enough to avoid freezing. It’s also a good idea to keep your home’s thermostat set to a consistent temperature, day and night, as sudden temperature drops can increase the risk of freezing. Letting a small trickle of water run from faucets during very cold nights can help prevent pipes from freezing by relieving pressure buildup. If you have outdoor hoses, make sure to disconnect them and shut off the water supply to outdoor faucets during the winter months.
Regular drain cleaning is essential for maintaining a healthy plumbing system and preventing inconvenient blockages. We recommend scheduling professional drain cleaning services at least once a year for most residential properties. If your home has older plumbing or you have frequent issues with slow or clogged drains, you may need to have your drains cleaned more often. In commercial properties, especially those in the food industry, grease and debris can build up quickly, so more frequent cleaning may be necessary. Annual cleaning helps to remove any buildup of hair, soap scum, grease, and other materials that can accumulate over time, preventing serious blockages. Our professional drain cleaning services include the use of tools like drain snakes and hydro jetting, which can effectively remove even the most stubborn buildup. Regular maintenance helps extend the life of your plumbing system and keeps everything running smoothly.

Additionally, we are fully insured, meaning that both our plumbers and your property are protected during the work process.
